Red Sand Project

Red Sand Project

Join us on Saturday, December 21st starting at the Palmyra Train Station at 10:00AM and ending in Riverside between 11:30AM-12-PM as we participate in the
Red Sand Project,
A nationwide effort to bring awareness
To Human Trafficking

We will meet at the Palmyra Light Rail station
and travel to Riverton,
Cinnaminson and Riverside.

Supplies will be provided
We will distribute a packet of red sand to be poured into the cracks of the sidewalk
To symbolize those who have
“fallen through the cracks” of society

The “Red Sand Project” actions have been done in all 50 states and in 70 countries, with more than one million participants.

The International Labour Organization
estimates that 40.3 million individuals are victims of Human Trafficking live in modern-day slavery, whether in forced marriages, forced labor,
or for sexual exploitation.
81% of them are trapped in forced labor
25% of them are CHILDREN
75% are WOMEN and GIRLS

The term Human Trafficking doesn’t necessarily mean the movement of people it refers to the selling, buying, and/or trading of a person. This can be either for money, for servitude, or to coerce one to perform acts for another for profit.
It is the exploitation of people who are recruited, harbored, offered or detained for a fee or services.

Be aware of the warning signs.

Solid Waste Update

We have been advised by the trash hauler that the delivery of the carts will now take place the week of December 16, 2019. The carts will be delivered by a third-party company, but if you have any questions or concerns after receiving your cart, you are to contact the Township at 856-461-1460 x4 or mjack@riversidetwp.org

Residents should begin to use the carts immediately after receipt. As previous stated, all solid waste must be placed within the cart for collection and one bulk item may be placed next to the cart for collection each week. If you are in need of an additional cart, one can be purchased through the Township at a cost of $65. Please contact Township Administrator Meghan Jack at 856-461-1460 x4 or mjack@riversidetwp.org. An invoice will be sent to you and the cart delivered to you after payment of said invoice is received. We will also take requests for smaller carts, but will require that the 96 gallon carts be used first to ensure that a smaller can will suit your household needs. Please contact Township Administrator Meghan Jack at 856-461-1460 x4 or mjack@riversidetwp.org for those requests as well.

We ask for your patience as we make the transition to the automated service and please direct any inquires to Township Administrator Meghan Jack at 856-461-1460 x4 or mjack@riversidetwp.org .
