Town Hall Meeting

Congressman Kim Town Hall Meeting

Congressman Andy Kim hosted a Town Hall Meeting in Riverside on Tuesday July 30, 2019.  Approximately 150 residents were in attendance at the school auditorium to participate in a discussion on a variety of topics including local flooding, opiate addiction, healthcare/Medicare, and global warming.

We thank Congressman Kim for choosing Riverside as the location to host such a forum, and the attendees for taking the time out of their busy schedules to participate.

We would also like to thank Morgan Blake for singing the National Anthem.

ATTENTION HOMEOWNERS

The Township is seeking to assist homes in need of repair.

In September, the Township of Riverside will once again be applying to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for Small Cities Community Development Block Grant funds to help more Riverside homeowners with their needed home repairs. Eligible homeowners can receive an interest free loan up to an anticipated $20,000 in repairs or replacements of sub-standard major home systems such as roof, electric, plumbing, heating, foundation, windows, lead based paint hazard remediation and more.
The Burlington County Bridge Commission, on behalf of Riverside, has retained Community Grants, Planning & Housing, LLC, (CGP&H) to prepare the application to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.  For Riverside to qualify for these federal funds, it is imperative to demonstrate eligible homeowners’ interest and housing repair needs.
If your home needs the above types of improvements, please visit CGP&H’s website at https://hip.cgph.net/riverside-township-housing-rehabilitation-program/ for more program information, including income limits, homeowner testimonials and to complete an easy online preliminary application ASAP. This will get you started on the application process and onto the program waiting list which is first come-first served.  If you have limited internet access, please call CGP&H at 609-664-2781.
Eleven homeowners were assisted via former funding! Now is the time for YOU to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to make needed home repairs. To meet the September deadline the Township needs you to contact CGP&H NOW to begin your part of the process!
Financial assistance for the housing rehabilitation program is made possible by a grant from the N.J. Dept. of Community Affairs, Division of Housing and Community Resources, Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program, Governor Phil Murphy and Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Sheila Oliver.  Funding for the State’s CDBG program is provided by a grant from the U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development,  State Community Development Block Grant Program.

Congressman Andy Kim to Hold
Town Hall in Riverside
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Andy Kim will host a town hall in Riverside on Tuesday, July 30th at 6pm.
“Our town halls are my chance to hear from you, so I can take your priorities back to Congress,” said Kim. “It’s why I’m focused on making life more affordable for working families by lowering the costs of prescription drugs and reinstating the SALT deduction. The ideas I hear in places like Riverside will drive solutions back in Washington.”
Kim added, “I want to thank Mayor Hatcher for inviting us to Riverside and hosting our town hall. I look forward to hearing from our neighbors in Riverside and across Burlington and Ocean Counties.”
This is the eighth town hall held by Congressman Kim during the 116th Congress, and part of a monthly series to allow the Congressman to hear directly from constituents throughout New Jersey’s Third District.
