Public Works Spring Collection
The Public Works Department will begin Spring collection services in April as follows:
Branch Collection will begin April 1st
Friday Morning Sweeps will begin April 5th
Leaf Collection will begin April 15th

Cleaning Up Riverside Baseball Fields
April is National Volunteer Month, a time when we can show our appreciation to our volunteers and encourage volunteerism. It is in this spirit that we are using this as an opportunity to help our friends in Riverside get ready for the spring and summer baseball season.
For our April “Serve with Senator Singleton” event, we will partner with the Riverside Youth Athletic Association to help prepare and clean their baseball fields for the upcoming season. Volunteers will be asked to help clean the fields of weeds, leaves and debris, as well as help set-up the concession stands. This event will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Whomsley Field on American Legion Drive in Riverside and we are asking volunteers to help from 10am-12pm.
The Riverside Youth Athletic Association runs recreational sports activities for Riverside youth. It believes that youth sports should prove to be fun and exciting for all players, families, and friends alike. It encourages all involved to play competitively, but at all times maintain the integrity of the Riverside Youth Athletic Association's Charter which simply stated is, "a place for parents and children to work and play together."
We are seeking 20 volunteers, so please RSVP today.

It is with extreme regret that the Township Committee announces the resignation of Michael Miller from the Governing Body. The members of the Committee thank him for his service during his term.
The Township Committee, however, is pleased to announce that John Michael Higgins has been appointed to complete the remainder of Mr. Miller's term.

Riverside 5K for K9
The Riverside Turners, in cooperation with the Township of Riverside, are proud to announce the Riverside 5K for K9 on May 18

Come out and enjoy this flat, fast, and scenic race in Riverside, New Jersey! This is a certified 5K which ends on a downhill in downtown Riverside.
After the race, come join us for a live band & food trucks.
All proceeds that are raised by the 5K will go to benefit the Riverside Police Department K-9 unit.
Registration
The race is capped at 300 and participants are strongly encouraged to pre-register online.
For all others, registration will start on race day at 8:45 am in front of the Riverside Municipal Court.

8:45am-9:45 am: Packet pick-up and registration(unless the event is sold out.)
10:00 am: Race Start Time
Course Support
All runners and walkers must complete the course within 1 hour or keep a 19 minute per mile pace. After 1 hour the course will reopen to regular traffic.
Award Categories
Prizes for Male and Female 1st overall.
Additional prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, male and female in the following age groups: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.

During our meeting last week we introduced the 2019 Military Walk of
Honor that the Riverside Historical Society will be coordinating in cooperation with the township!
Banners (like the one shown here) will be installed along Scott and
Pavillion in time for the Memorial Day Parade. Banner sponsorships are
available to our members as well as the public for $100 however spaces
are limited. If you would like to commemorate an active duty or veteran service person, please print out the form shown here (or pickup one Thursdays from 10a-12p) and submit your check to 10
Zurbrugg Way Riverside, NJ 08075. You will also need to scan a 5"x7"
or larger image and send to riversidehistoricalsocietynj@gmail.com (no
pictures taken from phone please). All other information is included
on sponsorship form.
Please note: THIS IS NOT A FUNDRAISER; all money goes to the creation
of the banner and a 11x14 framed image of the banner for the sponsor
to keep. Our organization would simply like to honor those Riverside
residents who have served and facilitate this Military Walk of Honor.
