With the threat of significant accumulation, the Public Works and Police Departments would like to remind you of the of the following:

1) There will be no parking permitted on Scott Street or Pavilion Avenue beginning at 10 p.m. this evening and lasting through the duration of the storm.

2) Do Not park on the roadways unless absolutely necessary.  Please use driveways where possible.

3) Do Not throw snow into the roadway.  Any resident throwing snow into the roadway will receive a summons for Municipal Court, no exception.

4) When shoveling your driveway apron, please place snow to the left of your driveway (when looking to your residence), as this will result in as little snow being pushed back into your driveway as possible. It is impossible to prevent all snow from being pushed back into your driveway, so we always suggest that you wait until the snowfall has ceased to begin shoveling your apron.

5) You must remove snow from your sidewalks within twenty-four (24) hours after snowfall.  If sidewalks remain untouched after this time period, the owner of the residence will receive a summons for Municipal Court.

6) Stay off of the roadways if possible.  If you do not need to be on the road, please stay off of it.

PSE&G Prepares for Winter Storm

Extra personnel and equipment at the ready

(NEWARK, N.J. – March 13, 2017) Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), New Jersey’s largest electric and gas utility, is preparing for the approaching storm system that is predicted to bring heavy snow and strong winds to the Northeast on Tuesday.

“The amount of snow and high winds associated with this storm may bring down trees and power lines,” said John Latka, senior vice president of electric and gas operations for PSE&G.  “We take every storm with the potential for outages seriously, and have additional personnel scheduled and on standby, with auxiliary equipment at the ready.”

The utility also has extra personnel on hand to respond as quickly as possible and handle emergency requests. Both PSE&G’s appliance service business and call centers are prepared to respond to customer “no heat” calls as temperatures remain low during the next several days.

In anticipation of the storm, PSE&G is taking the following steps to ensure that the utility is ready to respond to resulting power outages:
·         Arranging for contractors, including tree crews, to assist the utility’s own skilled workforce.
·         Ensuring that additional supplies, including poles, transformers and other pole-top equipment, are on hand.
·         Refueling all vehicles.
·         Testing generators at utility locations.
·         Coordinating with county and municipal emergency management personnel to inform them of outages and expedite restoration efforts.

PSE&G urges its customers to be cautious during and after the storm:
  • Downed wires should always be considered “live.” Do not approach or drive over a downed line and do not touch anything that it might be in contact with.
  • To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, do not run any gasoline powered engine, including generators and snowblowers, in a garage or any other enclosed space.

Customers should report downed wires or power outages by calling PSE&G’s Customer Service line at 1-800-436-PSEG.  Also, customers can report outages at www.pseg.com or by texting “OUT” to 4PSEG (47734). The utility’s mobile-friendly website includes an “Outage Map” that is updated every 15 minutes and displays the location and status of power outages in PSE&G’s service area.

New Look, Same Bill

As most of you are aware by now, the Riverside Sewerage Authority has changed the format of the quarterly bills.  Though the look has changed, all fees remain the same.  The flat fee for a residential user, is $100 per quarter for the first 12,000 gallons of water usage per quarter.  Any usage in excess of 12,000 will incur excess fees.  The bills are generated quarterly and are due by the last business day of February, May, August and November.  The fees billed each quarter are based on the previous quarter's water consumption, as reported by New Jersey American Water Company.  Should you have any questions regarding your bill, please contact our offices at 856-461-1460 x1.
